Today our group travelled to Greenwich in order to film some scenery shots and some shots of King J including the opening scene. We went after school because we wanted some scenes for our video to be at night because of the song title. We also chose to go to Greenwich because we wanted the shots to look nice and classy which Greenwich offers. After today we only have one or two more shots to re-do and then any other corrections that are suggested to us by our teachers or class mates will be considered. The shoot went very well and we got some good shots. The night time really suited our shots and there was a nice layer of fog which made the shots look even better. We filmed several shots in front of the University in Greenwich and then a few in front of the River Thames by the barrier.

Changes we have made to our video from feedback
Since we played our first draft to our class we have made a few considerable changes to the video as a whole. The costume of our artist has changed quite dramatically. Before, King J was predominantly wearing a tracksuit. However, our feedback stated that this costume made the video look a bit like it was from the grime genre. To resolve this we changed the costume so that King J was instead wearing designer clothes such as shirts and jeans with smart shoes. We have also changed some of the locations for our video. For the opening scene of our first draft we had it at some local garages. However, again our feedback said that the video looked too grime like so we changed these locations. The opening scenes will be re-filmed in Greenwich where there is nice scenery and quite prestigious looking buildings. We also filmed at a hill in Thamesmead which had a really nice view of the city around King J. It also showed him from quite high up in order to represent his journey to the top. This idea is also shown through his clothing which is quite rich and more expensive. This is a nice contrast especially in the scenes on the hill.

Remaining shoots
The remaining shoots we will need to do to complete our music video include the re-filming of the gang scene. We are currently unsure over whether or not to keep this scene as well it looks a little out of place with our genre and narrative. We will definitely need to re-film it or film something else to replace it as the original shots are shaky and a bit out of focus, they are also framed poorly and don't suit the genre well. This scene which comes at the start and the chip shop scene are the most urgent call for re-shoots. We are happy to keep the party scene and some of the studio scene and now that we have some additional shots from "the hill" in Thamesmead we are happy to cut between these new shots and the studio shots. The reason why we are going to do this is because our feedback said that these shots went on for a bit too long and ended up in the video ending on a boring note.
Behind the scene shots and shoot location
These are some pictures from our latest shoot. Myself and Ghanshyam both took turns taking some shots with Ghanshyam's camera whilst Jacob acted as King J. Thomas gave support behind the camera to whoever was filming also. The setting was very suitable for our video and we feel like it will be a very good addition to give a bit more variety to our video as a whole.
Production Log Entry 7
Today we began re-shooting some of the scenes for our music video. We travelled to one of our locations for our photoshoot in Thamesmead to film these scenes. We filmed a variety of different shots of King J and shots of the scenery around where we filmed just for some additional shots to fill any gaps in our video. The shoot went very well in conclusion, we worked together to get some nice shots and were very happy with the location and the weather on the day.
